Empowering women through prenatal education

Gail has enrolled at Glory Reborn pregnant with her third baby and is very excited for her new little one. Gail has finished a two year course in IT however has not been able to find stable work. Gail lives with her parents and is raising her children. Sadly one of her children suffered from diarrhea just before her first birthday. Despite being admitted in the public hospital her daughter succumbed to the diarrhea and died. This was a very difficult loss for Gail and her family. Gail is receiving additional ministry and counseling with our team as she continues to grieve the loss of her second child.

Gail is thankful for this third pregnancy and is eager to ensure this baby is healthy. Gail will be attending all of our pregnancy classes and breastfeeding classes after delivery to ensure this little one has a healthy start to life. As part of our pregnancy classes we teach mothers how to help their families with basic hygiene, diarrhea prevention and treatment, deworming and immunizations. Diarrhea is the fourth leading cause of death in children under 5 years old in the Philippines leading to 10,000 deaths per year according to UNICEF. By attending Glory Reborn’s prenatal classes mothers become educated and empowered in caring for their infants and children thus preventing some of the common childhood deaths.
