The Strength and Dignity of a Woman

Women’s Month is Here!

Strength and Dignity of a Woman

One of our favorite month’s at Glory Reborn is the month of March as we celebrate Women’s Month. It is a beautiful month to reflect on the fullness of the care that Glory Reborn offers to the women in our community. Perhaps one of the most wonderful aspects of our care is that it is local Filipino women empowering, encouraging, uplifting other women. With a primarily female team, Glory Reborn sees first hand the impact of women helping women. Not just helping but deeply caring for one another. Not just any care but care that brings life into the world.

Proverbs 31:25 says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future”. I think of the hundreds of single mothers, abuse victims, forsaken women who have found such strength and dignity through the care and ministry offered by our amazing team of women. They never leave anyone behind. They are standing together clothed with the strength of the Lord, clothed in dignity, where they are honored and no longer alone. During my medical training the images that still come to mind from the labor room of the hospital is a single bed with four mothers laboring together sideways. All in pain, barely able to move, bodily fluids all over, the epitome of the loss of strength and dignity of a woman who is about to bring life into the world. Glory Reborn exists to contrast this. Woman to woman care. Health education, labor support, a safe, clean, dignified place to labor and deliver, prayer, encouragement, baby parties to celebrate a new life, support groups to help when we need a little extra strength. This is what women’s month means to me. Thank you for being a part of providing strength and dignity to the least of these, honoring them, not forsaking them, and empowering them in the journey of motherhood ahead.
